Based on the celebrated novel by Daniel Wallace and the acclaimed film directed by Tim Burton, BIG FISH tells the story of Edward Bloom, a travelling salesman who lives life to the fullest ... and then some! Edward's incredible, larger-than-life stories that thrill everyone around him - most of all his devoted wife Sandra. But their son, Will, about to have a child of his own, is determined to find the truth behind his father's epic tales. Overflowing with heart and humor, BIG FISH is an extraordinary musical that reminds us why we love going to the theatre - for an experience that is richer, funnier and bigger than life itself.

What an adventure you have decided to go on with ATC's production of BIG FISH. In typical Americana tradition, this is a story that both entertains and matters and is told in a very creative way. Based on the novel by Daniel Wallace and the 2003 film by Tim Burton, this is a story about a father and son and their inability to connect and accept each other for who they truly are - I would imagine there are many in the audience who might resonate with this theme. Of course, the story doesn't end there. Edward (the father) is a master storyteller often yarning larger-than-life fish stories brought to life on the stage which is both the crux of the conflict and the resolution of the matter. Our stories heal our pain. Story has the power to bring hope into even the most desperate circumstances because we never know how it will end. That leaves the door open to a hope-filled happy ending. I pray that on your journey with us tonight, you are inspired to reach out to your fathers and/or sons and share with each other the stories that make us who we are. Enjoy this beautiful production of BIG FISH!
